Common Sense Conspiracy has repeatedly touched on solar storms and the solar cycle in our articles, especially with more interest in it of late because the current solar cycle is nearing its most active point. Our point was always that these solar cycles run in periods of around eleven years, are a known phenomenon, and repeat themselves for as long as anyone has paid attention. What happens is that there is just enough time between this part of the cycle and the last one for people to forget about it. Planetary Resources Plans to Mine Asteroids

In something right out of your favorite science-fiction novel (I don’t know, maybe Andrew Appleby’s Rise of the Cerians), a company that was started three years ago now with some mystery is now revealing its intentions. Planetary Resources intends to attempt to mine asteroids near the Earth for materials we can use back home. This includes water and platinum metals. Sound crazy? Well, consider this. Some real heavy hitters are part of the project, including Google’s Larry Page and Eric Schmidt, Ross Perot Jr., former Microsoft engineer Charles Simonyi, and James Cameron. Will the Earth’s Magnetic Pole Shift in 2012? Get the Facts

There are many people out there that are latching on to the theory that the Earth is poised for magnetic pole shift in 2012.  One of the reasons this has become such prevalent conspiracy theory fodder is the upcoming end of the Mayan calendar, which many believe will be the end of the world as we know it.  But what is the scientific data behind the idea of a magnetic pole shift?  Is it imminent?  And what would be the consequences if this came to be sooner rather than later?

Let’s start with the reality here.  The Earth does indeed seem to shift its magnetic poles from time to time.  From time to time in Earth terms means millions of years.  Many scientists today have hypothesized that the Earth experiences a magnetic pole shift on the average about every half a million years.  What does that mean?  It’s simple, really.  The Earth’s magnetic pole reverses.  So north would be south and south would be north and so on.  The “North Pole” would be in Antarctica.  That is the theory, and there is scientific evidence to back up the phenomenon. Meteor Strikes the Sierra Nevada Mountains — Bright Streak of Light Across the Daytime Sky

Many people surrounding the areas of Lake Tahoe, California, Nevada, and Oregon made reports after witnessing a scorching bright light streak across the sky around 8:00 A.M. local time Sunday morning.  It was often referred to as a “blinding light,” as bright as the sun if not more.  Shortly thereafter, a loud sound and shaking was also reported.  The USGS says there were no earthquakes in the area, leading many to believe it was a meteor strike.  The trajectory of the light across the sky seems to indicate that the meteor struck somewhere in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Astronomers Capture First Light from Alien Earth — Landmark Achievement for Exoplanet Research

The NASA Spitzer Space Telescope has accomplished what astronomers are already terming a “historic achievement.”  The infrared telescope actually allowed scientists to view light from a planet similar to our own outside of the solar system.  The implications, of course, are that they are actually seeing something from a place where life could exist.

The planet is 55 Cancri e and has been on the charts since 2004.  It is not likely to harbor life, but it is similar in nature to our planet in other ways.  Size-wise, it is much larger, leading scientists to call it a “super-Earth.”  In reality, they believe 55 Cancri e is around twice as wide as Earth and has eight times as much mass. As our race evolves and learns through the many trials and tribulations, the human race is continually advancing in many ways. As we become more, and more educated, we will eventually come to realize certain things that were once unknown and or was once only theory, then with time, proven and then considered to be fact and or true.

Inexplicable Gaps in the Theory of UFOs?

I firmly believe that extraterrestrial races have been visiting earth for thousands of years. I have read hundreds of accounts of contact, and carefully reviewed transcripts of radar showing impossible aerodynamics.

There are thousands of documented cases, each with hundreds of witnesses. It can’t all be a hoax or mistaken identity.

However, when it comes to stories of human contact with aliens, something doesn’t seem quite right. I have never read about aliens being fascinated with our culture.
